German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz announced has created a limited edition for the Vito van, with the vehicle offering additional equipment worth $2,500 with no additional cost. The special edition is destined to the Australian market, with only sixty vehicles scheduled to be offered. Volkswagen is planning to buy a controlling stake in Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A., Italy’s largest design and engineering firm, according to two industry sources quoted by the Automotive News Europe. An announcement could be made as early as next week, one source said. However, Volkswagen and Italdesign representatives declined to comment on the rumors. Torque Developments announced today it has developed three levels of supercharger upgrades for the 2006 onwards Honda Civic Type R, designed to enhance the performances of the Honda Civic Type R FN2. These conversions are able to add between 75 and 105 bhp, depending on the specification. Mercedes Grand Prix issued a press release on Tuesday in which it announced it had decided not to submit an appeal following Michael Schumacher’s penalty. Japanese manufacturer Lexus took the opportunity which arose with the opening of the new Lexus store in Australia and announced it has signed a deal to become the official vehicle supplier of the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) and the Qantas Wallabies. Damon Hill is having second thoughts about the relevance of former drivers acting as FIA stewards at Formula 1 races.
